Second: OMG, a kitchen couch is perfect. We have a sitting area that spills into the kitchen and yes it has a couch but I have never thought of it as essential to the kitchen or to the many talks that take place in it. It shall be rechristened today.
I smiled in recognition when you said you and your husband did not run out of things to talk about (and that debate about the morality of the artist is one that happens weekly in our kitchen as my mate's opinions of the famous worsen). This ability to talk about anything or nothing is one of the things I cherish most about my mate and my marriage.
