Robyn, I did have a tiny door in my childhood bedroom. As a child I was convinced that the green faced , Wicked Witch from the “Wizard of Oz” lived there!!!!!
That is sad. If you like Narnia, you might like Seanan McGuire's Wayward Children series, in which there's a school for all the children who have stumbled through doorways.
I had recurring dreams as a child (still do) about mysterious doors in closets leading to other closets through a series of Chuck E. Cheese style tunnels. I used to be fascinated by the little attic squares my friends had in the ceilings of their closets. I never had one of those growing up, so I didn't understand where they went or why they were there. Only that they seemed the perfect size for a kid to climb through. 🙂
Chuck E. Cheese tunnels are next level. I still have dreams about trying to find the perfect apartment/house to rent sometimes they have rather fantastic features.
We now have one of those attic entrances, at the top of our stairs. It is perfect for a kid. I'm certainly never fitting through there.
Oh man. I used to dream about outrageous houses when my husband and I were in the market for our first home a billion years ago. My favorite one had an amphitheater and a balcony jacuzzi overlooking the ocean. We were billionaires in these dreams apparently. 😂Another weird detail of those dreams was how much stuff the previous owners had left behind for us to keep.
I have had the same feelings about our town’s
Loft Tour. It is my favorite, above all others!!
I willingly volunteer to serve as a docent.

Oh, no, Ann, that's terrifying. Were the flying monkeys back there, too? They scared the crap out of me as a kid.
My money's on you for finding the door. Love the loft tour too.
Keeping my fingers crossed, Sandy.
Sadly, there are no secret doors in my house, which I built with my own most of two hands. It’s hard to keep secrets from one’s self.
But when I read Narnia, I allow myself to believe there are those kinds of doors somewhere.

Fortunately No Flying Monkeys!!!
Ha Ha Ha!!!!!

An amphitheater could always come in handy. I do think it's the stuff that people leave behind that's especially fascinating.
