That is a good list of one! The Good Life talks about how it's not necessarily about quantity, but quality, and are the relationships you have meeting your needs.
My daughter, born in 1968, grew up watching Mr Rogers. AND at first she was TERRIFIED of Lady Elaine Fairchilde….so I had some fast talking to do. Not sure if I ever, really, convinced her of any reason she should not to be “terrified!”
Love this idea. I opened my little cookie camper this weekend, and my suspicion that much of what I ‘get out of it’ (the bakery business), is a way to routinely interact with the world was reconfirmed. I’m more cheerful when I see some people at least a few days of the week.
We had to go to town today, so my count is higher than on an at-home but not open day usually would be, way up north on the woods. I’m at ten souls, three of them dogs. Pedro and Cora at the feed mill sat and stared at me with limpid gazes and I split a homemade Greek yogurt dog biscuit between them. It was a lovely moment.
Challenge accepted but with trepidation. Today, for example, I saw and spoke to only one person besides my mate: a new person who walks dogs. I did love my hour and a half at the local bookstore on Saturday. I saw two people I knew and spent a delightful hour with tons of others n line snaking through stacks of books as we waited to make our purchases. All strangers but we spoke the same language.
I bet I'm more than average, still maybe not Randy level :) ... just today had to be near 20. But I also invite people to come take tours for a living, so it is likely skewed.
Oh and Daniel Tiger always looked like he needed a bath 1000% but then again so did my stuffed elephant. I was a bit miffed by how he doesn't look like that now. Fairchilde was strange as was the King but the show taught me so much and now I may be singing...
Oh, good, it wasn't just me thinking Daniel Tiger looked a little rough. Yes, I can't tell you how often I walk around our house singing songs from Mr. Rogers. They are the ultimate ear worms.
Hmmm. So far today - 5

You are a social butterfly. And seeing the Goddess counts as like three sightings.
One. I'm unlikely to see or talk to anyone else today, and that one is my daughter.

Ann, that puppet is objectively terrifying! If you convinced your daughter not to be afraid of her, you have amazing talents of persuasion!

Oh, you're right, Ellen. Dogs and cats should definitely count. There's a cat in the window I pass all the time and she lights up my whole day.
Oh, well, if dogs count, I can two more to my total?
Absolutely!

Bookstore people are the best people.
Randy, this post makes us literal social media influencers. When do we get merch deals?
There should totally be some merch.

We're all still waiting for Randy to chime in...
