Some thoughts on Feud, Truman Capote, the Swans, and being a writer
Correction: William Paley was the founder and longtime chairman of CBS.
Oops! Thanks for the correction!
Paley would have gone berserk if you said he worked for NBC, as he and NBC founder David Sarnoff had a long-standing rivalry.
You know, I should have known, as he kept talking about 60 Minutes, which is definitely not and never was on NBC.
I don't know how you think so much. I feel like a slug after reading your blog (sorry if that's not correct name) and knowing how much other thought and work you put into what didn't make the blog! I'm a great napper even though slug like.
Is feeling like a slug a good thing?
Not really. It's that why are you not doing something productive with the time you have left!
Because you don’t have to do anything productive anymore? You did that for a long time.
Also, showing Broadway musicals on your porch seems like a very good use of time.
Love this. Such interesting questions you're wrestling with here!
Thanks, Barb!
"watching another writer squander that precious chance makes me insane." A writer's gonna be what they are. And some aint much : )
I’ve been using my Truman Capote voice as my inner monologue off and on since we talked about this the other night.
It’s been a maddening week. 😂
Is it maddening because of the Truman Capote voice or is the Truman Capote voice an attempt to deal with a week that was already maddening?
Jeff’s been trying to channel Capote’s laugh. Sometimes he nails it and it’s startling. Sometimes he misses and it just sounds like he’s choking.
It was probably already a maddening week, Truman sitting inside my head has not helped!
I can't imagine having Truman Capote inside your head would be helpful in any way.
